    • Walnut Creek Elementary Principal Dr Dinorah Bores was named Austin ISD’s principal of the year for 2019. Since she’s been at Walnut Creek, they’ve built on their arts programs by adding STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) activities and improving identification and delivery of special education student needs.
      La directora de la primaria Walnut Creek, la Dra. Dinorah Bores, fue nombrada la directora del año de Austin ISD en 2019. Desde que estuvo en Walnut Creek, construyeron sobre sus programas de artes al agregar actividades de STEM (ciencia, tecnología, ingeniería y matemáticas) y mejoró la identificación y la entrega de las necesidades de los estudiantes de educación especial.
    • Guerrero Thompson Elementary Principal LaKesha Drinks has been named an Executive Director of School Leadership for Austin ISD. While she was at Guerrero Thompson, they received distinctions for their academic achievement, while building an engaged parent volunteer corps. In her new role, she’ll support and coach elementary principals.
      La Directora de la Primaria Guerrero Thompson, LaKesha Drinks, fue nombrada Directora Ejecutiva de Liderazgo Escolar de Austin ISD. Mientras estaba en Guerrero Thompson, recibieron distinciones por sus logros académicos, mientras formaban un cuerpo de padres voluntarios comprometidos.   • Steven Covin has been named Principal at Lanier High School. He has been serving as the interim principal. He has spent his entire career at Lanier, starting as an english teacher, and picking up a master’s degree in special education along the way.
    Steven Covin fue nombrado Director de la Escuela Secundaria Lanier. Él ha estado sirviendo como el principal interino. Ha pasado toda su carrera en Lanier, comenzando como maestro de inglés y obteniendo una maestría en educación especial en el camino.
