Our APD District Representatives

Our neighborhood’s Austin Police Department district representatives are Senior Police Officers Anna Jackson and Ray Kianes. They are both bilingual english/spanish.
Los Representantes de Distrito del Departamento de Policía de Austin en nuestro vencindario son Oficiales Superiores Anna Jackson y Ray Kianes. Ambos son bilingües inglés / español.

Senior Officer Rafael “Ray” Kianes
Officer Kianes was born and raised in New York City, graduated high school from the New York Military Academy and joined the New York National Guard, where he was awarded the Humanitarian Service Award for his involvement in the ice storms in Syracuse.

He enrolled in the Reserve Officers Training Program at the State University of New York College at Brockport. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in history and subsequently was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army. Deployed in several engagements during his 8 years in the army, Officer Kianes was awarded the Bronze Star Medal during Operation Iraqi Freedom and was honorably discharged as a Captain in 2005.

As an officer in the Austin Police Department, Officer Kianes worked in Patrol in northeast Austin for about 3 years and since then has been assigned as a North East District Representative, where he currently works as the Edward 1 District Representative. He can be reached at (512) 974-5805.

Senior Officer Anna Jackson
Officer Jackson was assigned as the Edward 2 District Representative in summer 2018. She plans to focus her work on domestic violence.
