As part of the Texas Book Festival, authors and illustrators of children’s books visited our schools last week.
Como parte de la Festival del Libro de Texas, autores e ilustradores de libros para niños visitaron nuestras escuelas la semana pasada.

At Walnut Creek Elementary, students met with these “Reading Rock Stars”:
En la Primaria Walnut Creek, los estudiantes se reunieron con estas “estrellas del rock de lectura”:

  • I Love You Like a Pig, words by Mac Barnett / Te amo como un cerdo, palabras de Mac Barnett
  • White Stars, illustrated by Kadir Nelson / Estrellas blancas, ilustradas por Kadir Nelson
  • The Youngest Marcher, Cynthia Levinson / El Marchista más joven, Cynthia Levinson
  • My Brigadista Year, Katherine Paterson / Mi año brigadista, Katherine Paterson

TA Brown students hosted these Reading Rock Stars at their school. On the weekend, they visited the Texas Book Festival at the state capitol grounds, where they introduced Ms Martinez for her reading:
Los estudiantes de TA Brown organizaron estas estrellas de Reading Rock en su escuela. El fin de semana, visitaron el Texas Book Festival en el recinto del capitolio estatal, donde presentaron a la Sra. Martínez para su lectura:

  • La Princesa and the Pea, Juana Martinez / The Princess y el guisante, Juana Martínez
  • I’m Just No Good at Rhyming, Chris Harris / No soy bueno para la rima, Chris Harris

Meanwhile, Barrington students made a word door from their recent reading.
