North Lamar Boulevard sidewalks (June 2017 update)

Construction is in progress to complete accessible sidewalks along much of North Lamar Boulevard from 183 to Braker Ln. This work is primarily funded by a grant which ADAPT and others worked to get in 2011. It also uses a little bit of money from the City’s 2012 bond election.

There will be lots more improvements coming over the next several years, from the 2012 and 2016 bonds. Learn more about the North Lamar Boulevard 2011 mobility corridor study, including proposals for raised medians, complete sidewalks, more effective intersections, street trees, and pedestrian crosswalks.

Recommendation 75: Construct Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant ramps at all intersections with sidewalks.
Objective T.6: Improve the safety of pedestrians traveling along North Lamar Boulevard.
Objective T.13: Provide transportation alternatives to those who live, work, or visit.
Objective T.8: Improve traffic flow along North Lamar Boulevard.
