Austin Code Neighborhood Enhancement Team (NET) pilot phase II

May 4 update from Austin Code Department: “The Neighborhood Enhancement Team (NET) pilot program is temporarily on hold pending an internal evaluation.”

Despite intense, unaddressed concern from stakeholders and elected official over Phase I of the NET pilot, Austin Code Department has launched Phase II, targeting the western part of Georgian Acres, bounded by 183, N Lamar Blvd, Rundberg Ln, and Georgian Dr, including businesses, houses, and apartments.

The City’s Housing Ordinance and the federal Fair Housing Act protect in the area of housing from discrimination based on race, sex, religion, national origin, familial status, and physical or mental disability. If you believe that your or your neighborhood’s housing are being treated differently by Austin Code Department because of one of those protected classes, you can file a complaint online or call the fair housing office at 512-974-3251 to have a paper complaint form mailed to you. It is also illegal for anyone to threaten, coerce, intimidate or interfere with an individual exercising a fair housing right.
