Energy Usage Index for multifamily properties

As part of Energy Conservation and Audit Disclosure (ECAD), Austin Energy calculates an “energy usage index” (EUI) for multifamily properties, the average amount of electricity per square foot that the property uses each year. This gives potential residents a tool to use to compare what their utility bills might be. Properties which have a particularly high EUI are required to provide a special notice, and to make some energy efficiency improvements.

According to Austin Energy, here are the energy usage indices for some of our apartment properties:
Austin Parke 7.73
Garden Path 8.56
Arrowhead Park 9.72
Chase Village 11.14
Village Park 11.5
Long Branch 11.92
Santa Maria Village 12.05
Remington House 12.07
Silvervale Crossing (Capella) 13.32
Brookstone Village (Solano) 13.42
Sterling Village 14.09
Georgian Apartments 14.34
Longspur Crossing 14.83
Haven East 16.37
Garner Park 16.38

Here’s a spreadsheet with more details of the ECAD Multi-Family Energy Audit and EUI Data for these properties.

Residents and property owners and managers can get more information about the energy conservation audit program and about rebates for improvements in insulation, air conditioning, and appliances.

  1. Carl Webb says:

Are the apartments spread out within the general Rundberg area or are they specifically in the North Lamar and Georgian Acres neighborhoods?

  2. nlct says:

The apartments named in the article are located in the North Lamar and Georgian Acres neighborhood planning areas. The linked spreadsheet includes multifamily properties in 78753 and 78758, which would encompass the Rundberg corridor.
