Barrington Park has been selected for a city-sponsored tree planting this fall, to add roughly 60 trees. We’ll probably have a planting day volunteer event, and then the city will make sure the trees are watered and maintained until they are established.
Other improvements over the past couple of years include improved fencing to separate the school grounds from busy streets, new playscapes, new adult exercise equipment, additional trash cans for the soccer field, new benches, and signage for the Slayton entrance.
Future desired improvements might include an accessible route from parking lots to the soccer field, a water fountain near the Slayton/Rundberg cap metro stop, and additional picnic tables.
Contact the neighborhood team if you’d like to help, with volunteers or through a business sponsorship.
