Michael Allen Youngs Jr. 39 of Pflugerville, Texas, passed away at home May 29, 2015. He was born in Mishawaka, Indiana to Michael Allen Youngs Sr. and Kathy Youngs. Michael graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1994. Michael joined the Army in 1996. Was deployed and served in Bosnia for nine months and proudly served active duty for five years. Michael received a two star general merit coin. After being honorably discharged from military service, Michael relocated to Pflugerville, Texas and joined the ranks of the Austin Police Department. During his service as a police officer, he received The Life Saving Valor Award. Michael had been living his dream as an instructor at the Austin Police Academy where he earned the respect of his peers and the community. Michael is survived by his wife, Jamie Youngs; step-son, Byron Eberly, and his parents, Michael Allen Youngs Sr. and Kathy Youngs.

Officer Youngs served as district representative in the North Lamar/Rundberg area during the early years of our neighborhood turn-around, and was involved in developing the nuisance abatement civil suit against Larry Hall, owner of the Budget Lodge.
