¡Es Mi Parque! Brownie March 3

2012.03.03 Meeting Minutes DRAFT

Contact team members, neighbors, APD district representatives and Parent Leaders met to clean Brownie Park and then enjoyed an afternoon playing in the sun. Thank you to Austin Parks Foundation and all of the citywide It’s My Park Day sponsors.

The acre of land being donated to the park has been a dumping ground for many years. There are also several invasive plant species established along the creek. Volunteers picked up litter, removed (and returned) a shopping cart, cut down ligustrum, and rehung the No Dumping signs.

The work was followed by hotdogs, a jump rope contest, and fun with balloons.

There will be another work day on the new park land one afternoon during spring break (Mar 12-16). Contact Joseph Kanke if you would like to participate.
